# ProWrite Protocol Readiness Checklist

This checklist is a planning aid, not ethics approval or institutional clearance.

## Question and objectives

- [ ] The research question names the population, central concept or exposure, outcome, and relevant setting.
- [ ] Every specific objective is answerable using the planned design and available data.
- [ ] The primary objective and primary outcome are unmistakable.
- [ ] Exploratory objectives are labeled separately.

## Design and participants

- [ ] The design matches the question and is named consistently.
- [ ] Inclusion and exclusion criteria can be applied reproducibly.
- [ ] The sampling frame and recruitment pathway are documented.
- [ ] Selection bias and feasibility risks are described.

## Variables and analysis

- [ ] Outcomes, exposures, predictors, covariates, and time points are operationally defined.
- [ ] Each objective maps to a planned analysis and output.
- [ ] Sample-size inputs are justified and source-linked.
- [ ] Missing data, multiplicity, assumptions, and sensitivity analyses are addressed.

## Ethics, privacy, and governance

- [ ] Authority, ethics-review status, consent requirements, and institutional restrictions are documented.
- [ ] Only the minimum necessary data will be collected or shared.
- [ ] Direct identifiers are excluded from public inquiry channels.
- [ ] Registration and reporting-guideline requirements have been checked.

## Researcher ownership

- [ ] The researcher can explain the design and primary analysis.
- [ ] Scientific decisions and approvals have named owners.
- [ ] Contributions, acknowledgements, conflicts, and AI use will be disclosed.
- [ ] Version history and protocol amendments will be retained.
